Prof. Dr. Elena Demidova is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Bonn, Germany. In the past, she worked as a research group leader at the L3S Research Center, Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Web and Internet Science Group at the University of Southampton, UK. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Leibniz University of Hannover in 2013 and her M.Sc. degree in Information Engineering from the Universität Osnabrück (Germany) in a joint program with the University of Twente (The Netherlands) in 2006. Elena has been involved in the leading roles in several large-scale EU-funded and national projects including most recently the roles of the project coordinator of Cleopatra (a Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN Excellence Network, H2020), Data4UrbanMobility and Simple-ML projects (BMBF). Elena’s main research interests are in data analytics, mobility, multilingual data, Open Data, the Web, and Semantic Web.
