Prof. Dr. Elena Demidova is Professor of Computer Science and head of the Data Science and Intelligent Systems Group (DSIS) at the University of Bonn, Germany. Previously, she worked as a Research Group Leader at the L3S Research Center, Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany, and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Web and Internet Science Group at the University of Southampton, UK. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Leibniz University of Hannover in 2013 and her M.Sc. degree in Information Engineering in 2006. Elena has been involved in the leading roles in several large-scale EU-funded and national projects, including most recently the roles of the project coordinator of Cleopatra (a Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN Excellence Network, H2020), Data4UrbanMobility and Simple-ML projects (BMBF). Elena’s main research interests are in Data Analytics, Spatio-Temporal data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, the Web, and Semantic Web.
